Designed specifically for suspended timber floors, the RetroTherm® Joist Deck foil faced chipboard system is a high-performance, low profile underfloor heating solution ideal for both retrofit and new build applications.

Each board is precision CNC-machined to accommodate 16mm underfloor heating pipe at 150mm centres – fully compatible with low-temperature heat sources like heat pumps, as well as traditional gas boilers.

The foil-face of each Joist Deck panel provides optimum thermal conductivity, delivering excellent heat outputs across the whole panel surface. Combined with the strength of structural chipboard, you can be assured that the RetroTherm Joist Deck system will deliver the structural integrity required for direct-to-joist upper floor installations.

The system accommodates minimum height build up – the routed Joist Deck panels are the same 22mm thickness as a standard floorboard and only require a 6mm panel over the top for structural integrity, meaning a minimal 6mm extra height build up compared with a standard floor.

RetroTherm® Joist Deck panels are quick to install using conventional chipboard flooring techniques and can be fixed using screws and PU adhesive for the tongue and groove joins. Once the system is pressure-tested, the panels are overlaid with 6mm cement overlay board or a 9mm plywood, ready to receive final floor finishes such as engineered wood, LVT, vinyl, carpet or tile (with appropriate preparation).

Two different RetroTherm® Joist Deck size options (2400mm or 1200mm length boards) allows the installer to tailor their requirements for faster installation and minimum wastage, suiting projects of any size.
