The development took place on the site of a 200 year-old corn mill site in Oughtibridge, Sheffield, with plans to build two five bedroom detached houses overlooking a private pond.
Our client, Rendis Ltd, a renowned specialist renewable heating installer, were appointed to carry out the plumbing and heating installations which would include air source heat pumps and underfloor heating to both properties.
TUS were asked to design and supply the underfloor heating systems for both houses.

The Cornyard, Oughtibridge underfloor heating

Both plots utilised a pipe in screed system to the ground floor and heat spreader plates to the first floors. Emmeti manifolds and multilayer composite (MLC) pipe were specified and installed throughout.

The customer wanted to have the option of being able to control the heating from both inside the home and while they were away so the Heatmiser Neo Smart thermostat system was chosen to satisfy this requirement.

The project was featured on Channel 4’s Grand Designs in October 2018 and also won Residential Development of the Year at The Northern Design Awards.
