The RetroTherm® Joist Deck Cement Overlay Panel is a low profile, high-strength cement fibre panel, used in conjunction with routed underfloor heating carrier boards such as RetroTherm® Joist Deck to reinforce the structural floor.

Installed directly over the pipe-carrying Joist Deck panels, the 6mm thick overlay board also acts as a highly efficient heat transfer layer, due to its cementitious composition. Cement board is thinner and more heat conductive than standard 9mm plywood, to deliver even heat distribution across the floor finish above with minimum thermal resistance.

Manufactured from a robust blend of Portland cement, sand, cellulose, and proprietary additives, the board is water-resistant, mould-resistant, and entirely free from gypsum, asbestos, formaldehyde, or glass fibre. Its dense, non-combustible construction offers excellent impact and compressive strength to enhance durability and performance.

The 6mm RetroTherm® Cement Overlay Panel is particularly well suited to tiled floor finishes, allowing ceramic or porcelain tiles to be laid directly on top using a suitable flexible tile adhesive, without the need for self-levelling compounds.

Quick and simple to install using screw fixings, the board is a practical solution for strengthening routed UFH panels and preparing a smooth, stable subfloor ready for floor coverings.
